The Founders

Because studios were built on the grounds of Insel Hombroich, all of the visual artists who were closely involved in setting up the museum also had a place to work there from the very beginning. These were:

Second Generation

The acqui­si­tion of the Rake­ten­sta­tion later on made it possible to create studios and apart­ments for another gene­ra­tion of artists. Karl-Heinrich Müller granted the following indi­vi­duals studios and, in some cases, lifetime resi­den­tial rights:

Participants

Later on, rooms were also set up for guest artists and scho­lar­ship holders, which are still used inten­si­vely and constantly changed today. In addition to the above-mentioned parti­ci­pants, the following artists and archi­tects were involved in various ways in designing, estab­li­shing and deve­lo­ping Museum Insel Hombroich and the Stiftung Insel Hombroich foun­da­tion:
