Staude was born in Munich in 1965 and studied at the Frankfurt Univer­sity of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) between 1986 and 1991 under Rolf Riehm and Bernhard Kontarsky. He was commis­sioned by SWR Baden-Baden to produce works for the Donau­eschingen Festival and by WDR Köln for the Wittener Tage festival for new chamber music. The State Capital of Munich and the Bavarian State Opera also chose Christoph Staude to compose the music theatre piece WIR based on Yevgeny Zamyatin’s book ‘We’ for the opening premiere of the Munich Biennale in 2005. His work has repea­tedly won awards and can be heard not only in Hombroich but also on radio stations and in concert halls all over the world.
