In 2003, having paid several visits to Hombroich, Katharina Hinsberg (born 1967) and her husband, poet Oswald Egger, were invited by Karl-Heinrich Müller to live and work at the Raketenstation. The couple had previously lived in Vienna following a joint working scholarship at international and transdisciplinary artists’ residence Akademie Schloss Solitude. Beside her own art, Hinsberg worked above all on developing the Hombroich : Summer Fellows programme.

Katharina Hinsberg’s work focuses primarily on the essence of drawing, on manifestations of lines and coloured areas in space. For this, she uses paper-cutting, collage techniques and comprehensive installations. She studied Fine Art in Munich, Dresden and Bordeaux and received numerous scholarships. In 2003, she accepted a professorship at HFK Bremen, before becoming Professor of Conceptual Painting at HBK Saarbrücken in 2011, where she remains to this day. Many exhibitions of her work have been held in leading venues both in Germany and abroad.
