The literary magazine Schreibheft, founded in 1977, has been edited by the publicist Norbert Wehr (b. 1956) since 1982. The editorial concept consists of focussing on an author, a book, a literary group or the literature of a language. The dossiers are devoted not only to contemporary German literature but also to internationally advanced literatures. The Schreibheft has received, among others, the Hermann-Hesse-Preis, the Alfred-Kerr-Preis and an award in the accolade section of the Kurt-Wolff-Preis.
Norbert Wehr has transferred the Schreibheft editorial archive to the Stiftung Insel Hombroich as a premortem estate. The Schreibheft archive includes manuscripts by authors and translators, related correspondence and other documents. This is supplemented by a collection of other literary journals and a library of belles lettres concentrating on the second half of the twentieth century.
