Tag der Archive: „Alte Heimat – neue Heimat“

In keeping with this year’s theme for Germany’s nationwide Archives Day, ‘Old Home – New Home,’ the Stiftung Insel Hombroich is opening the doors of its archive and library building at the Raketenstation. Following extensive renovation, the collections have largely moved back into their old – and yet entirely new – home. While the ‘old home’ of the archive material corresponded to the overall aesthetic concept of the rocket station and the interior was designed with wooden furniture based on the designs of artist Katsuhito Nishikawa, the ‘new home’ now complies with current archive standards. The Stiftung Insel Hombroich Archive invites interested members of the public to view the current status of the relocation and take a look at what has changed, what has remained the same and what still needs to be done.
The following free events will take place:
2 to 5 pm Exhibition in the foyer of the archive and library building
2 pm Tour of the Archiv und Bibliothek (sold out)
3 pm Guided tour of the Erwin Heerich archive and library (registration required, tour is in German)
4 pm Tour of the Archiv und bibliothek (sold out)
In the Thomas Kling Archive, artist Ute Langanky will also be presenting her new portfolio ‘Lichtstrom 2026’ between 2 and 5 pm
