In October and November 2026, the Stiftung Insel Hombroich, at the invi­ta­tion of Katharina Hinsberg, will welcome artist Seokjin Hong as a guest artist at the Rake­ten­sta­tion.

During her residency, Seokjin Hong will focus on the series Häute and Falten­zeich­nung and offer insights into her artistic practice. In Häute, the artist’s own skin texture is trans­ferred onto paper and trans­formed into a three-dimen­sional form through folding, while in Falten­zeich­nung, the act of folding itself takes center stage. Through the percep­tion and repre­sen­ta­tion of the body, direct contact with the material, and the inscrip­tion of traces, the artist explores how the body, material, and envi­ron­ment intert­wine and coll­ec­tively give rise to form.

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 2 to 6 pm, Hong will open the doors to Katharina Hinsberg’s studio on the second floor of the resi­den­tial building and guest studio complex, where she is a guest artist during her residency.
