Café Biemel is located at the Raketenstation. It is not to be confused with the cafeteria at the Museum Insel Hombroich.
By naming it Café Biemel, leaseholder Hendrik Baatz and the Stiftung Insel Hombroich are paying tribute to philosopher Walter Biemel (1918–2015), who was closely associated with the foundation as an advisor on philosophy. He also bequeathed his entire academic estate to the foundation’s archive, which makes the collection available under his name for scientific and research purposes.
