Hombroich : Wandelkonzert

On July 19, the first Hombroich : Wandelkonzert will take place at the Museum Insel Hombroich in cooperation with the neighboring conservatories in Düsseldorf and Cologne. From 11 am to 5:30 pm, seven of the walk-in sculptures designed by sculptor Erwin Heerich and scattered along the banks of the Erft River will serve as venues for a diverse and entertaining program.
The music ranges from Bach, Schubert, Brahms, and Poulenc to Kurtág, Berio, and Ligeti; from classical music to live electronics; and from solo violin and flute, through piano trio and string quartet, to trombone ensemble and a polyphonic choir performing Romantic choral music. In addition, there are performative and dance-based contributions as well as experimental interventions, some of which were developed specifically for the respective exhibition buildings. Even classical music takes on an unusually different character in these spaces, simply because of their unique architecture and acoustics. Each program lasts 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break. The audience moves freely through the museum from venue to venue, following their own interests. Those who need a break will find seating in the cafeteria throughout the day, as well as a simple buffet with food and drinks.
There are no additional costs for visitors to attend the program, as it is already included in the admission price. Please note that most pavilions do not have seating. Tickets can be booked in advance at the shop.
