Hanna Maxi is deve­lo­ping a site-specific, intuitive arran­ge­ment of various works created during her time at the Kunst­aka­demie in the Wachhaus at the Rake­ten­sta­tion. Among other things, her instal­la­tion features modular paper works that she assembles as fragments into something larger, modular like a type case that can be rear­ranged again and again. The paper works are attached to the wall, adapt to the spatial condi­tions, and can no longer be used after being torn down. In this way, the fragments inscribe them­selves into the location and mark it before they disappear at the end of the exhi­bi­tion period. The arran­ge­ment of the works and thus the instal­la­tion only exists for as long as the exhi­bi­tion lasts and marks the conclu­sion of Hanna Maxi’s studies as a fleeting snapshot.

The Wachhaus exhi­bi­tion series is a colla­bo­ra­tion with the Kunst­aka­demie Düssel­dorf, in which students create a new instal­la­tion on site every two months. After a cycle of six presen­ta­tions, one contri­bu­tion is honored with an award in the following year.
