COLOUR IMAGE SPACE. Bart van der Leck in Dialogue

COLOUR IMAGE SPACE. Bart van der Leck in Dialogue
Fri–Sun 12 am–5 pm
At the end of May, the Stiftung Insel Hombroich will open an exhibition on the work of the Dutch artist Bart van der Leck (1876–1958), who is considered one of the most important representatives of the De Stijl movement. For the first time, the extensive holdings, which constitute one of the largest Van der Leck collections worldwide, will be brought together and presented in their thematic diversity. In dialogue with contemporary art, the exhibition illustrates the artistic relevance and consistency of van der Leck’s oeuvre. Works by Karina Bisch, Nicolas Chardon, Imi Knoebel, Erik van Lieshout, Florian Meisenberg, Andreas Schmid, Boris Tellegen and Yoana Tuzharova enter into a dialogue with those of Van der Leck and bring the questions about the relationship between colour, image and space into the present.
